Prodigy offers an engaging way for kids to learn math while having fun at the same time. It covers the math curriculum for a wide range of students. There's enough here for kids from first to eighth grade, although the bright and cartoonish art style may turn off some older students. In either case, this is a surprisingly well-designed game for the educational market, and it's designed with the needs of both students and teachers in mind.

This game is also built off the assumption that all kids learn at their own pace. And with the smart difficulty adjustment built-in, you can count on Prodigy to develop at a speed that's most appropriate for each kid's proficiencies. It will automatically start the curriculum at a grade below that entered and adjust the difficulty depending on how well they perform. And it will continue to adjust to the needs of the students over the course of their time with Prodigy, so it can adapt to students who are hitting walls in the learning experience or need more help with a particular topic.

It's easy to integrate into the classroom too. Prodigy Math Game is web-based, so teachers can run it straight through computer lab browsers without having to download any extra software. And the compatible app featured here means that kids can have a fun alternative to traditional learning wherever they go. Parents can keep an eye on how their children are progressing too. A parent account is completely free to create, and it gives parents insight into all of their kid's statistics so they can make changes to their learning experience. They can even set goals and assign different rewards to them so they can help keep their kids actively engaged in math and motivated.

Prodigy is built consciously with the safety of everyone in mind. Strict safety measures are used to protect the identities of students, educators, and parents, and sensitive information about students is never shared to curb the possibility of dangerous leaks in the first place.

The free Prodigy experience offers a deep wealth of lessons to work through and tons of customization options for student avatars, but the possibilities expand even more with a premium membership. The fantasy world that Prodigy takes place in allows for countless possibilities for students to build their perfect persona, and a premium membership also gives students access to a larger bank of challenges to overcome. Prodigy may not have the level of engagement you'd find in a AAA video game, but it provides a compelling new way to get kids interested in the world of mathematics.
